Community of the Year Celebration Toolkit

1)  News Release

2) Marquee announcements – Please consider placing this great news on your marquees, billboards, etc. Preferred wording is "WE ARE Indiana’s 2010 Community of the Year as presented by the Indiana Chamber."

4) Community of the Year Promotional Items

                a. Reserve Chamber Banners for your event

                b. Purchase your own banners, decals, stickers (Customize for your company!)

5) Community of the Year Week (October 3 through 9)

                a. Cans for Our Community Food Drive – Participate in the community-wide food drive to benefit  Catholic Charities, a food bank that redistributes food to charities who are feeding hungry people in Vermillion, Parke, Vigo, Clay, Sullivan, Greene, and Knox counties. As collected, food can be dropped off at Catholic Charities located at 2931 Ohio Blvd, Terre Haute, IN 47803. Click here to view the flier.

                b. Get creative! Encourage food donations by:

·         Allow participating employees to wear jeans for a day.

·         Provide discounts to an event for all those who donate.

·         Sponsor a contest such as the CANstruction

c. Keep track of results, the Chamber will be collecting this information for the November state event.
